Coffee Sustainability

A sustainable future is half the battle in being able to continue enjoying the best coffees in the world. This is just one of the many reasons why we’ll put recycling first at the Lisbon Coffee Fest.

In cooperation with the Lisbon City Council, coffee grounds will be sent to the Valor Sul Treatment and Organic Recovery Plant.

There they will be treated and transformed into an organic soil improver, without chemical additives, for agriculture and gardening.

For this model to actually work, sorting must be done properly. There will be recycling bins with brown lids for coffee grounds and we kindly ask all those present to carefully comply with this rule.
